Garlic Spareribs(China) - cooking recipe

3 pounds spareribs
1 onion, diced
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 tsp. ginger
3 cloves garlic, minced
Preparation

Combine juice, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger and garlic in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil over low heat for 30 minutes. While sauce is cooking, place ribs in a large saucepan with diced onion and cover with water, boil over low heat for 15 minutes. Remove from saucepan and place in baking dish. When sauce is done, pour over ribs. Marinate for 8-12 hours in refrigerator, then drain off sauce. Bake ribs in covered dish on top oven rack at 400 for 1 1/2 hours. Remove lid and bake an additional 10 minutes. Serve.
