Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 c. rolled oats, uncooked
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until light.
Add eggs and vanilla. Sift cake flour with baking powder and salt and add with whole wheat flour and rolled oats; mix well.
Shape into 2 rolls about 2 inches in diameter and chill in refrigerator until firm.
Slice about 1/4-inch thick.
Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Will make 5 dozen.
