Crusty Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    apples (enough to cover bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking dish)
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 large egg
    1/4 c. butter, melted
Preparation
    Peel apples; cut into eighths.
    Cover the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
    Add 1/2 cup of sugar, the cinnamon and nutmeg; toss well.
    Mix the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and egg together to form a crumbly mixture.
    Spread over apples.
    Pour the melted butter over topping.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes, or until nicely browned and apples are tender.
    Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
