Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 c. salad oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. rolled oats (uncooked)
1 c. crushed cornflakes
1 c. coconut (optional)
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg; mix well.
Add salad oil and vanilla, mixing well.
Add oats, cornflakes, coconut and nuts, stirring well.
Add flour, soda and salt; mix well.
Drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheets. Flatten with a fork dipped in water.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Cool on cookie sheets for a few minutes before removing.
Makes 8 dozen. They stay moist and keep beautifully.
