German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 medium potatoes
    1/2 large onion, chopped
    1/2 lb. bacon
    1 tsp. sugar
    2/3 c. vinegar
    2/3 c. water
    1/2 c. oil
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Boil potatoes in skin until tender.
    Drain and cool before slicing.
    Add onions, oil, salt and pepper.
    Chop bacon into small pieces and fry until done.
    Drain bacon.
    Mix vinegar, water and sugar.
    Pour over bacon and heat to boiling.
    Pour hot mixture over potatoes.
    Stir gently.
    Best when served warm.
