Sweet Potato Sonker - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 large sweet potatoes
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 stick margarine
    1 1/4 c. milk or water
    1 tsp vanilla flavoring
    cinnamon
    pastry, available in dairy case
Preparation
    Peel and slice potatoes.
    Put half of potatoes in 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.
    Cover with half of sugar and margarine.
    Sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Cover with strips of pastry.
    Add another layer of potatoes, sugar, margarine and cinnamon.
    Mix flavoring with milk or water and pour over all.
    Cover with pastry.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    This recipe can easily be cut in half and made in an 8 inch square dish.
