Caramel Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    sprinkle of salt
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1 1/4 c. milk
    1/2 stick butter
Preparation
    Mix 3/4 cup sugar, salt, flour and egg yolks well.
    Gradually add milk and blend well.
    Add butter and cook over medium heat until it thickens.
    Set aside until you dissolve other 1/2 cup sugar in iron skillet over medium heat.
    Gradually add this to other mixture, beating with mixer as you mix.
    Pour this into a baked pie shell and set into the oven a few minutes to set up, then beat egg whites and sweeten to taste.
    Put back into oven and brown.
