Date Loaf - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 c. nuts
1 pkg. pitted dates, chopped
1 Tbsp. butter
vanilla
Preparation

Boil sugar and milk together until soft ball is formed in cold water.
Add dates and cook 5 minutes longer, stirring constantly. (Note:
Cook until mixture looks like jam.)
Remove from fire; add butter, nuts and vanilla.
Beat until it thickens.
Roll in wet cloth and slice when cold.
