Maraschino Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/8 tsp. salt
    8 oz. jar maraschino cherries and syrup
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt together in a saucepan.
    Drain cherries and reserve syrup.
    Gradually stir in syrup and water. Stir constantly and bring to boil over medium heat.
    Cover; simmer 3 minutes.
    Cut cherries in halves and stir into mixture.
    Makes about 2 1/2 cups sauce.
    Good with ice cream.
