Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. chopped dates
2 tsp. soda
2 c. hot water
1/4 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts
softened cream cheese
Preparation

Mix the first 3 ingredients and let stand.
Cream the butter, sugar and eggs.
Add flour, vanilla and salt.
Alternate with date mixture.
Fold in nuts.
Pour into 7 ungreased juice cans and bake for one hour at 325\u00b0.
Slice very thin and spread with softened cream cheese.
