Boyfriend Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sq. baking chocolate
    1/2 c. hot water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. cake flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    2/3 c. milk or sour milk
Preparation
    Melt chocolate in hot water over low heat; cool.
    Cream shortening with sugars, eggs and vanilla.
    Stir in cooled chocolate.
    Sift flour with salt and soda; add alternately with milk to dry ingredients.
    Blend until smooth.
    Pour into prepared layer pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool.
