Chop Suey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 stick butter
    2 lb. hamburg
    salt and pepper to taste
    3/4 to 1 pkg. celery
    4 to 5 good size onions
    1 1/4 c. water
    3 tsp. La Choy brown gravy sauce
    1 can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
    2 handfuls egg noodles
    1 can bean sprouts, drained
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Melt butter in large saucepan or Dutch oven.
    Add hamburg, salt and pepper.
    Cook on medium, stirring occasionally, while meat is cooking.
    When meat is cooked, add celery and onions, 1 1/4 cups water and La Choy brown gravy.
    Turn up heat so it will boil.
    Turn heat to low and cook 20 minutes or until celery is crispy.
    Add chestnuts, egg noodles and bean sprouts.
    Turn up heat so it will boil again.
    Then turn down to low and cook 10 to 15 minutes.
    Add cornstarch in cup to make a smooth paste by adding La Choy sauce. Then add to chop suey.
    Shut off and let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Serve with chow mein noodles.
