Easy Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 tsp. powdered alum
    1 Tbsp. pickling spice
    1 Tbsp. canning salt
    1 c. apple cider vinegar
    1 c. sugar
    3 tsp. cold water
Preparation
    Fill jars with pickles, then add cold water.
    The first four ingredients should be added to each quart jar.
    Seal.
    Before using, about 12 to 24 hours ahead of time, remove from brine. Wash in cold water twice and drain.
    Split each pickle and return to rinsed jar.
    Add sugar and cold water.
    Place in refrigerator and keep refrigerated.
