Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can undrained pineapple
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 pkg. lemon jello (3 oz.)
    1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz.)
    1 c. diced apples
    1/2 c. nuts
    1 c. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Bring to a boil pineapple and sugar.
    Add jello.
    Remove from heat; add cream cheese, Cool Whip and nuts.
    Mix until well blended.
    Pour into 9-inch pan.
    Chill until firm.
    Cut in squares and serve on lettuce leaves.
