Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
2 Tbsp. sugar
flour (enough to make a soft dough)
Preparation

Roll dough 1/4-inch thick.
Cover with slices of apple, chopped slightly, and bits of butter; roll like a jelly roll and cut in pieces about 1 1/2 inches thick; drop into boiling sauce and bake 30 to 40 minutes.
