Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers
    2 c. sliced lime
    2 gal. water
    2 qt. vinegar
    9 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. pickling spice
    green food color
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers in water and lime 24 hours; drain and rinse well. Soak in clear water 4 hours. Mix other ingredients and pour over cucumbers that have been drained. Let stand overnight. Cook until clear. Add green food coloring to desired amount. Simmer 35 minutes. Seal in jars.
