Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion
    1 large green pepper
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 c. tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. rice, uncooked
    1/2 tsp. pepper and chili powder
Preparation
    Chop and brown onion and pepper in shortening in frypan.
    Add ground beef and cook until browned.
    Add rest of ingredients.
    Mix thoroughly and cook in a 2-quart casserole dish, covered.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
