Aunt Beaut'S Ginger Cakes(Cookies) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. lard
    1 1/2 pt. sorghum or other dark molasses
    3 Tbsp. soda
    2 eggs
    1 pt. buttermilk
    1 c. white sugar
    3 Tbsp. ginger
    8 to 10 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix molasses and soda.
    Add sugar, lard, eggs and milk.
    Add enough flour to make a soft dough.
    Put in refrigerator a while. Roll on floured board about 1/4-inch thick.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 about 15 minutes.
    Cool and store in tightly closed container.
    Makes 12 dozen cookies.
