Grandma Grant'S Salad Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. bacon
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. salt
    5 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. cream
Preparation
    Cut bacon in tiny pieces and fry out in saucepan; set aside half of the fried bacon.
    Beat the eggs; add the salt, sugar, vinegar and water.
    Beat well and add to the bacon and the bacon fat in saucepan.
    Heat slowly, beating constantly until the mixture thickens.
    Remove from the fire and add the cream.
    Pour this over a head of lettuce, garden lettuce.
    Garnish with additional bacon and some hard-boiled eggs.
