Coconut Mist Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted Swans Down cake flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. butter or other shortening
    1 lb. or 3 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    4 egg yolks, well beaten
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. shredded coconut
    4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Sift flour once.
    Measure;
    add baking powder and salt. Sift 3
    times.
    Cream
    butter;
    add
    sugar
    gradually.
    Cream together until light and fluffy.
    Add egg yolks and beat well. Add
    flour alternately
    with
    milk.
    Add vanilla and coconut. Fold
    quickly and
    thoroughly
    the egg whites.
    Bake in three 9-inch layer pans at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
