Pretzel Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    1 c. sugar, divided
    1 1/2 c. coarsely crushed pretzels
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1 (8 oz.) tub Cool Whip
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jell-O
    2 c. boiling water
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. fresh strawberries
Preparation
    Cream together butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
    Mix in pretzels and press into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 6 minutes.
    Let cool.
