2 cans mandarin orange segments
1 c. butter
2 1/2 c. plus 1/2 c. sugar
5 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. juice from canned mandarin orange segments*
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

*Use 1/2 cup juice in cake and 1/2 cup juice in sugar glaze.
