Hotel Roanoke Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. baking powder
    5 eggs, beaten
    2 c. milk
Preparation
    Combine water, butter, sugar and salt in medium saucepan; bring to boil.
    Stir in cornmeal and boil 1 minute or until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat; add baking powder, eggs and milk, stirring until well blended.
    Pour batter into a lightly greased 2-quart casserole.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 50 minutes or until knife in center comes out clean.
