Joan Mondale'S Pumpkin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. each ground cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 2/3 c. flour
    1/2 c. salad oil
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. canned pumpkin
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. chopped dates
Preparation
    Sift the dry ingredients together.
    Place in large bowl and add remaining ingredients in order given, mixing well.
    Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan and spoon batter into pan.
    Bake about 75 to 90 minutes at 325\u00b0 until bread pulls away from sides of pan and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
    Cool in pan on wire rack.
    Remove.
    This bread freezes well.
    Makes 1 loaf.
