Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. strawberries, cleaned and halved
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    red food coloring (optional)
    water
    whipped topping or ice cream
Preparation
    Place strawberries in bowl.
    Sprinkle sugar over berries. Berries should marinate 3 to 4 hours.
    Drain juice into top of double boiler.
    Add enough water to make 2 cups liquid.
    Blend cornstarch with 1/4 cup of liquid.
    Blend into juice.
    Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
    Cool.
    Add lemon juice and food coloring.
    Fold in strawberries.
    Spoon into pie shell.
    Chill abut 1 hour.
    Top with whipped topping or ice cream.
    Yields 6 large servings.
