Ingredients

3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs, separated
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
7/8 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Beat egg whites, set aside.
In bowl, mix all dry ingredients together and set aside.
In large bowl mix butter, sugar and egg yolks well.
Add flour mixture to the ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
Add flour mixture last.
Stir in egg whites with folding motion.
Put in angel food cake greased pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 minutes or more if needed.
