Sally'S Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. cider vinegar
    2 Tbsp. Puritan oil
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 1/2 tsp. poppy seed
    pepper to taste
    1 (1 lb.) bag frozen broccoli or 1 lb. fresh broccoli
    1 (1 lb.) bag frozen cauliflower or 1 small head fresh cauliflower
    2 stalks celery, chopped very fine (optional)
    1 small jar chopped pimento, drained
    1 small carrot, grated (optional)
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, cooked according to pkg. directions and drain (optional)
    sliced fresh mushrooms (optional)
Preparation
    Make marinade of sugar, vinegar, oil, mustard, poppy and pepper.
    Stir over heat to dissolve sugar.
    Cool.
