Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. white sugar
    3 c. white corn syrup
    1 qt. whipping cream
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Pour sugar, syrup and 1/2 cream into huge pan.
    Bring to a boil.
    Just before boiling, add baking soda.
    Add rest of cream slowly.
    Cok until candy thermometer reaches 243\u00b0.
