Crisp Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    3/4 c. shortening, melted
    1/3 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    3 c. quick oats
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix all ingredients well.
    Shape into 1-inch balls.
    Place 1-inch apart on greased cookie sheets.
    Press with wet spatula to 1/8-inch thickness.
    Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until light brown and crisp.
    Remove to racks to cool.
    Store loosely covered in cool place.
    Makes about 60 cookies (5 dozen).
