Mott Street Meat Patties - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 c. peanut oil
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. sherry
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. sugar
2-4 green peppers, sliced thinly
6-8 c. cooked rice
Preparation

Form ground beef into 6 oval patties. Cook with oil in skillet until browned. Do not drain. Meanwhile, combine water, soy sauce, sherry, cornstarch and sugar in a bowl and set aside. Place strips of green pepper on patties. Pour sauce mixture over green peppers and patties. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Serve over cooked rice or noodles.
