Spicy Mandarin Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, cut each slice in 3 to 4 pieces
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/3 c. butter, softened
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Drain mandarin oranges thoroughly and cut into pieces.
    In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, salt and allspice. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and egg. Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Gently stir in oranges.
    Line egg and muffin pan with paper liners. Fill cups 1/2
    full of batter.
    Microwave approximately 3 minutes on High or until muffins test done with toothpick.
    Remove from
    pan immediately.
    Makes 12.
