Cherry Cakes(Or Other Fruit) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 sticks oleo
    4 eggs
    3 c. self-rising flour
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream sugar and margarine.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Gradually add flour and vanilla.
    Pour 2/3 of batter into a 9 x 12-inch pan. Pour pie filling over batter.
    Dab remaining batter by spoonfuls over filling.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
