Ingredients

4 eggs
2 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 pt. half and half
2 Tbsp. vanilla
3 to 4 c. milk
15 lb. crushed ice
Preparation

Beat eggs until foamy.
Gradually add sugar; beat until thickened somewhat.
Add vanilla, salt and half and half.
Beat well again.
Pour into 1 gallon ice cream freezer.
Add milk to fill line.
Cover.
Pack freezer in ice and rock salt and turn until very hard to turn, adding ice when necessary.
If using an electric machine, follow manufacturer's directions.
