Snowballs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shredded coconut
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. chopped dates
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    2 c. Rice Krispies
    1/2 c. nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt butter in double boiler.
    Add sugar and stir; add egg and stir.
    Add dates and mix thoroughly.
    Let cool about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Add Rice Krispies, nuts and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Roll into small balls, then roll in coconut.
    Refrigerate until firm.
