German Cocoa Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. butter Crisco
    3 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 whole eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 c. hot coffee (hot to taste)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy; beat in vanilla.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
    Add self-rising flour, alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour. Beat until smooth; add hot coffee and stir until blended.
    Pour batter into greased and floured cake pans, or one oblong 12 x 9 1/2-inch pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Frost with Coconut-Pecan Frosting.
