Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, beaten
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, chopped (walnuts or pecans)
1 c. dates, chopped
Preparation

Cut dates. Place in bowl and sprinkle with baking soda. Pour boiling water over and let stand until lukewarm. Add butter, sugar and beaten eggs. Add balance of dry ingredients. Bake in greased loaf pan (two). Bake at 300\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes. Check to see if done with toothpick.
