Rhubarb Matrimonial Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. cake flour or 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. oatmeal
    1/2 tsp. soda (1 tsp. may be used if desired)
    1 c. brown sugar
    3/4 c. butter
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda and salt together.
    Add sugar and oatmeal. Cut in butter until it is crumbly.
    Put half of this in bottom of pan.
    Cover with 2 quarts of young tender rhubarb, cut fine and mixed with 1 cup of granulated sugar.
    Cover with remainder of crumbs.
    Bake 1 hour in a 350\u00b0 oven until a deep golden color. Let cool.
    Cut and serve.
