Granny'S Good Ole Hominy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. corn
    water
    2 tsp. lye or wood ashes
Preparation
    Build a fire around the kettle.
    Put corn into kettle and fill full of water above corn; then add lye and cook until husk comes off corn.
    Take it out and wash it; then return to kettle and cook until done.
