Swedish Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 egg whites
    pinch of salt
    2 c. (1 lb.) pecans
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Warm pecans for 10 minutes in oven. Melt butter; set aside.
    Beat eggs and gradually add sugar until stiff.
    Stir pecans and meringue together.
    Stir meringue-nut mixture into melted butter.
    Spread out on a cookie sheet; bake for 30 minutes.
    Stir every 10 minutes, or until butter is absorbed.
    Cool.
    Great gift idea or appetizer.
