Hot And Sour Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. chicken broth
1/3 lb. lean meat, shredded into matchstick size pieces
4 Chinese dried black mushrooms, soaked in warm water and sliced
bamboo shoots and carrots, cut in julienne strips (optional)
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. dry sherry or 7-Up
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. m.s.g.
1/2 tsp. or less pepper (or jalapeno)
2 Tbsp. vinegar (white)
1 Tbsp. cornstarch, in 2 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation

Bring broth to a boil.
Add meat, mushrooms and bean curd. Simmer until meat is done.
Add soy sauce, sherry (7-Up), salt, pepper, vinegar, bamboo shoots and carrots and m.s.g.
Add cornstarch mixture.
Serve when thickened.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
