Chop Suey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean beef, cubed
    1 lb. lean pork, cubed
    2 Tbsp. fat
    2 c. celery, coarsely diced
    1 1/2 c. onions, coarsely diced
    6 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Brown meat in fat.
    Add celery, onions, soy sauce and water. Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Add 2 cans drained bean sprouts, 1 can sliced water chestnuts and 1 can sliced mushrooms.
    Thicken with 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
    Serve over cooked rice or Chinese noodles.
