Apple Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    2 eggs (unbeaten)
    1 c. apples, peeled and finely diced
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. warm water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped apples
Preparation
    Cream shortening well with white and brown sugars. Add eggs, blending well. Stir in apples. Sift together flour, baking powder and all dry ingredients. Add to apple mixture and blend well. Add soda to warm water and blend into batter. Add vanilla and nuts. Spread batter into loaf pan or 4 small pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 until toothpick comes out clean.
