Jelly Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (13 3/4 oz.) pkg. hot-roll mix
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. very warm water
    1 (12 oz.) jar strawberry preserves
    vegetable oil for frying
Preparation
    Prepare hot roll mix with 3 tablespoons of the sugar and water.
    Let rise, following mix directions.
    Turn dough on lightly floured board and knead 10 to 12 times.
    Roll out 1/2-inch thick. Cut with floured 2 1/2-inch cookie cutter.
    Place on lightly floured board or cookie sheet.
    Re-roll and cut leftover dough. Cover with clean towel and let rise 30 minutes or until doubled. Fill electric skillet 2/3 full.
    Heat to 370\u00b0.
    Fry donuts, turning once.
    Drop into bowl of remaining sugar and coat well. Cut a slit in the side of donut and fill with strawberry preserves, using a large pastry or frosting bag.
