Everlasting Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. mashed potatoes
    1 c. sugar
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. shortening
    1 Tbsp. salt
    3 c. warm potato water
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine potatoes, shortening, sugar and salt.
    Dissolve yeast in potato water and add to potato mixture.
    Stir in baking powder and flour and let stand until mixture begins to rise.
    Work in additional flour so that dough can be handled and kneaded.
    Pinch off amount needed and shape rolls.
    Put remainder in the refrigerator.
    Form into rolls of desired shape and size.
    Sweet rolls and rings may be made by adding fruits, nuts and spices as desired.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 until browned.
