Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 oz. red food coloring
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar. Add well-beaten eggs. Sift flour, salt and cocoa three times; add dry ingredients, alternate with buttermilk. Add vanilla. Blend food coloring. Dissolve soda in vinegar and fold into batter. Bake in three layers in a 350\u00b0 oven.
