Rice Krispie Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. dates, chopped
    1/4 lb. butter
    1 egg, beaten
    3 c. Rice Krispies
    1/2 to 3/4 c. cherries and nuts
Preparation
    Mix Rice Krispies, cherries and nuts.
    Melt butter and sugar; add dates and beaten egg.
    Stir constantly and cook until thick (about 7 minutes).
    Remove from heat and pour over Krispies mixture.
    Shape into balls and roll in confectioners sugar.
