Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. bran flakes or Raisin Bran cereal
    2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. hot water
    4 eggs
    3 c. sugar
    5 c. flour
    5 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 qt. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix cereal, oatmeal, shortening and hot water until smooth. Add eggs and sugar.
    Sift flour, soda and salt; add to bran mixture alternately with buttermilk.
    Blend well; put in gallon jar, cover and refrigerate.
    Keep 2 or 3 days before using.
    Bake as needed in muffin cups about 25 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Will keep in refrigerator about a month.
    Makes 60 to 70 muffins.
