Fresh Gooseberry Pie - cooking recipe

1/2 c. gooseberries, crushed
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. tapioca (quick cooking)
2 1/2 c. gooseberries
Preparation

Prepare pastry for 2-crust 9-inch pie.
Combine first 4 ingredients; cook and stir until mixture thickens and boils.
Add whole berries.
Fill pastry shell.
Dot with butter.
Adjust top crust, cutting slits; seal.
Bake at 400\u00b0
for 30 to 40 minutes, or until crust is brown.
Serve warm.
