Farm House Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening or butter
    2 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. sour cream
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    4 tsp. baking powder
    4 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add sour cream and vanilla.
    Sift all dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture.
    Roll on a lightly floured canvas or cloth.
    Roll dough about 1/4-inch thick and cut out with large round cookie cutter.
    Place on cookie sheet; sprinkle with sugar, nuts or raisins.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 18 minutes.
    Cookies should be large, soft and thick.
    Don't place them too close together.
    They should puff up big and need space.
