Ingredients

9-inch pie shell
1 1/2 qt. fresh strawberries
1 c. sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. water
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
red food coloring (optional)
Preparation

Place 1 quart fresh strawberries in cooled pie shell.
Crush remaining berries in saucepan.
Add sugar, cornstarch and water, blending well.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickens and boils.
Boil 2 minutes.
Add butter; stir until blended.
Strain mixture and cool.
Pour cooled glaze over berries in pie shell.
Chill about 3 hours.
Serve with Cool Whip.
